Misting pumps take regular hose pressure, around 7 bar (100 PSI), and raise it to about 70 bar (1000 PSI) to create 5 micron droplets that rapidly evaporate. Livestock fogging works between 15 and 70 bar.

How a misting line is laid out

Misting line: inlet, sediment filter, high pressure pump and a misting line with nozzles every 1.5 m outdoors or 2 m indoors

Water passes through the sediment filter to the high pressure pump, which feeds the misting line. Nozzles sit every 1.5 metres outdoors and every 2 metres indoors.

In addition to cooling systems, misting pumps are used in almost all misting applications, including dust suppression, odor suppression and other industrial misting applications.

The smaller water particles, in micron droplet size, flash-evaporate and cool the area quickly, up to 12 degrees, when high pressure misting pumps are used. Sahyadri Water Systems misting pumps are suited to residential, commercial and industrial applications. Misting pumps start at a pressure as low as 7 bar (100 PSI) and go up to 300 bar (4500 PSI).

Tubing

High pressure misting tubes

Manufacturer, supplier and exporter of high pressure misting tubes. Our misting system tubing supports all misting needs, from outdoor cooling and fogging effects to humidification and dust control. Our typical nozzle spacing is 1.5 metres for outdoor applications and 2 metres for indoor applications, and the port thread size is 10/24 or 1/4 inch, customised as per application.

Nozzles

Mist and fog nozzles

Manufacturer and supplier of mist and fog nozzles. We have a wide variety of mist and fog nozzles, designed, manufactured, tested and deployed as per application requirements. Our nozzles can be customised for connection size, flow rate and material. Mist nozzles are made of brass or stainless steel with an SS or ceramic orifice.

Misting nozzles cool by atomising pressurised water into aerosol particles that flash-evaporate. The smaller the water droplets, the better the cooling. We typically suggest a 0.2 mm orifice in dry climates and 0.15 mm nozzles for humid climates. Orifices range from 0.1 mm to 0.6 mm diameter.

Nozzles with calcium build-up can be cleaned by soaking them in our nozzle cleaner for 30 minutes to one hour, then rinsing and re-installing them. Our nozzles come apart for easy cleaning and flushing of debris, and adding a scaling filter to the misting pump reduces calcium build-up. Our standard nozzle thread is 10/24; the misting industry also uses other thread sizes such as 12/24.

Filters

Water filters and accessories

Misting system water filters and accessories strain out debris and impurities. As water passes through the filters, particles and other matter are trapped, so the system produces a fine, consistent mist.

The main function of a sediment filter is to remove large and fine particles from misting water. Sediment filters remove suspended solids, also known as sediment, turbidity or particulate, and work like a net that catches dirt particles as water flows through. The filter is fitted where water enters the misting system and holds a bed of natural media (sand, anthracite and similar). As water passes through this bed, dirt particles are trapped and clean water flows on to the pump.
